1. The contest is divided into two sections, Historical and Encounter scenarios.

Historical -- based on a battle described in fiction from the Legend of the Five Rings ™ setting.
Encounter -- any other scenario.

There will be one winner in each catagory (if there are sufficient responses) or all scenarios will be submitted for judgement regardless of catagory (but please indicate which type your scenario is).

2. One entry per person per catagory. Entrant must include a valid address and phone number along with their entry. This information will be kept confidential, but will be used to verify the identity of the author. Entrant should also include a valid email address if possible so that they can be contacted by the contest staff.

3. All entries must be written by the person submitting them. Submitting a work that is not yours will result in immediate disqualification.

4. All entries must be recieved by Midnight (EDT) on July 8th, 2001. All submission can be emailed to nezumi@darkedge.com. If you do not want to send it via email, you can send a paper copy to:

5. All submissions will be posted on ClanWar.com and all members of the ClanWar-l list will vote for which scenario they prefer. Voting will end on Midnight (EDT), August 7th, 2001. The scenario with the most votes (in each catagory if applicable) will be the winner. In the case of a tie, contest staff reserves the right to select a winner based on playability, detail and creativity.

6. Winners will receive $50 in AEG merchandise, which will be shipped directly to their address as submitted with their entry.

7. All submissions remain the property of the authors, However, submission of a scenario to the contest indicates willingness to grant ClanWar.com unlimited use of the scenario for promoting Clan War ™ and/or ClanWar.com on the web. ClanWar.com and/or AEG ™ may not publish these scenarios in any other form without the express, written permission of the author, nor may ClanWar.com and/or AEG ™ charge any money for these scenarios without the express written permission of the author. Submission also indicates a willingness to grant visitors to ClanWar.com permission to download the scenario for personaly use only.

Rules for Scenario Content:

1. Scenarios should be for two players, and must include "suggested" army lists. The lists must also include suggested tactical decks as well. The author should include notes for custom armies as required (army composition limits or whatever else). Armies do not have to have a specific value, but should be approximately 2000 koku (more or less as required). Armies do not have to have the same koku value, if dictated by the scenario. No army should be over 3000 koku. Standard profiles from published AEG ™ material need not be included in the scenario submission.

2. Custom personalities are allowed. However, if a custom personality is unbalancing, it will cause the scenario to be judged poorly by the list members, and may result in the scenario being disqualified in extreme cases. All decisions of the contest staff are final in this regard, so keep it sane. Any custom personalities must have full profiles included in the scenario.

3. All scenarios must have a description or illustration of the table setup. The Table should be a maximum size of 4x6 feet or 4x8 feet, but exceptions can be made for particular historical scenarios. A map would be best, but a detailed description will do. However, if you give a description then be advised that it will be turned into a map when the scenario is posted, and if it now what you have envisioned then you may be less than pleased and once a scenario is posted, that is your entry. Any special terrain rules must also be included. The contest staff also reserves the right to modify any supplied graphic for aesthetic presentation/publication reasons at their discretion.

4. Historical scenarios should include an introductory section describing the background of the scenario and detailing the event the scenario is attempting to model, as well as indicating if the scenario is from the Clan War story arc or the Hidden Emperor story arcs.

4a. Encounter scenarios are eincouraged to include an introductory section describing the evens leading up to this encounter, if applicable. If the scenario is generic, then some description of how the "suggested" armies arrived at the battle will suffice.

5. The contest staff reserves the right to reject any entry due to objectionable language or content. Entries will be posted on a public web page representing Clan War ™ so please keep that in mind while creating your entry.
