Books
A Samurai Castle -- This
is the first book I have found that gives you a view of a Japanese
castle that isn't a shot of the tenshu (main keep) taken from
a distance and framed by trees. You get an idea of how a castle
is constructed, and it used Himeji Castle, which is one
of the most famous and picturesque in Japan. There are some interesting
bits about the usual residents of such a place, as well as some
information on feudal Japanese society. This book is published
by Peter Bedrick Books.
Samurai Warfare -- An
excellent book that I cannot recommend enough. It is written
by Dr.
Stephen Turnbull, a leading authority on all things Samurai.
The book discusses all aspects of warfare in feudal Japan, with
illustrations and pictures throughout. Not a greatly in-depth
work, but informative and fun to read. If you are interested
in the period, then I would get this book. Published by Arms
and Armour Press, ISBN 1-85409-432-7.

Army
Builder 2.2 is a program available from Lone Wolf
Software, that can help you create an army roster for use
with any miniatures game, including Clan War. It makes army construction
much quicker, allowing you more time to actually play. It is
very flexilble, and has many data files for different game systems
available, including one for Clan War that includes the profiles
from Call to Arms and Thunders' Challenge.
If you do not have the money to register your copy or buy
the CD, then you can download AB 2.2 Lite, which
allows you to build armies of any size, but does not enforce
validation rules like the full version of AB does.
If you already have AB version 1.4, please note that you have
to download the new version to use the new data files. They will
not work in the older versions of AB.
AB is a great program, so give Rob
some support for all his hard work and register it!
