Changes in the Koku Offer Program (Last updated: ) There have been a great many questions regarding koku, since the last few products (before DE) have gone out without the koku symbol. We should have addressed the issue earlier.
After long deliberation, here is AEG's position on Koku for now and the future:
AEG wishes to do a koku program justice, but there are so many millions of CCG koku out there, and the costs of offering miniatures for koku is so much higher than the cost of a card, that AEG's koku offers become expensive to the company.
Nonetheless, the decision has been made to continue the koku program with the following revisions:
- AEG will use a new, official Clan War koku symbol with the Daimyo Edition release later this year. DE uses completely new packaging and the koku symbol will be integrated into all DE products.
- Only Clan War koku will be accepted for Clan War koku offers - we will no longer be able to accept L5R CCG koku.
- The original Clan War koku will retain its value until the end of the year, at which time AEG will stop accepting the old koku. From that point on, only the new 'official' Clan War koku will be accepted. We will continue to run offers through the Herald and on-line so that players have a chance to use up their old koku before it expires.
- Products released before DE which do not have the new koku symbol on them are not worth any koku. The AEG symbol on the green blister-backs continue to be worth 3 koku.
By the time that D.E. ships, a system will be implimented in the AEG office so that koku requests are shipped on a set schedule.
We appreciate your patience. Once we have set-up the new system, we will be able to make even better offers with regard to Clan War koku.
