March 14, 2000 - Desperate Journey, Promo Cards and other miscellany...

For those of you looking forward to the Desperate Journey Tournament:

Firstly, THANKS for supporting the game and wanting to participate in this storyline event.

A number of questions have come up and I wanted to address them here. Clanwar.com and Kyuden Hida may post these comments as they wish.

A few sites have leaked the scenario provided for the final round of the tournament. It's an unfortunate situation, but we didn't provide specific directions to the contrary.
As a result, we have to make an additional rule that applies to the final scenario (Bounty Hunters and referees pay attention):

No unit may setup within 18" of Asako Yurito's body or move to within 18" of his body during pre-game movement.

Future event documentation will specify that scenarios are not to be revealed prior to the event. However, we'll also have to remember that events which take place over more than one day will be public domain after the first event takes place so we'll have to be careful to provide rules based on that fact.

Promotional Cards: Some of the promotional cards available for koku through Wizards of the Coast are only now being released to Assembly members via Herald #14. Players who are not on-line have not had a chance (and will not have a chance) to acquire the cards prior to the DJ tournament. Consequently, the promotional cards Fight for Position, Inner Fire, Unfocused Chi, Dairya, and Chororu are not allowed for use in the DJ Tournament.
Promotional cards released in Herald #13, namely all of the Uninvited Guests and Amaterasu Smiles, are legal for use in the DJ Tournament.

I will be getting Clanwar.com and Kyuden Hida the files for Hostage rules so they can be posted before this weekend. Referees and players should acquaint themselves with these rules before the tournament if possible. For those who are not on-line, referees should have a hard-copy at the tournament site.

Thanks again for supporting Clan War!
